Coley Pawlikowski named Karolina Bartkowiak an assistant volleyball coach in March 2013.

"We are thrilled to have Karolina join our staff and family here at Stony Brook," Pawlikowski said. "Karolina brings a strong background and passion for volleyball to our group. Most of all, Karolina will be an excellent mentor and role model to each and every student athlete she interacts with."

At Utah, Bartkowiak coached the Utes during their second season in the Pac-12, arguably the most competitive volleyball conference in the country. The squad finished sixth in the NCAA and second in the Pac-12's statistical rankings with 3.00 blocks per set. In Pac-12 matches alone, the Utes were second in the league with 2.94 blocks per set.

In 2012, she worked as a fifth-year student assistant at Utah, where she assisted with drills and practices as part of her managerial duties. Bartkowiak gained two years of head coaching experience with Utah Juniors Volleyball Club. There, she coached and gave instructions to girls ages 16-17 and assisted squad for 18-year-olds. Bartkowiak also worked as an assistant coach at Utah Volleyball Summer Camps from 2008-10.

A two-year team captain, Bartkowiak finished her career as one of the most decorated players in Utah volleyball history. She was a three-time All-Mountain West Conference honoree and a two-time member of the AVCA's West Region Honorable Mention team. Bartkowiak wrapped up her collegiate playing career in 2010 in ninth-place on the school's all-time career kills ledger with 1,115 after becoming the 12th member of the Utes' 1,000-kill club in October of her senior season.
