Kevin DesLauriers joined the Seawolves volleyball staff in the spring of 2000, spearheading the offseason conditioning and recruiting efforts, and now enters his seventh full season with the program. Prior to Stony Brook, DesLauriers spent seven seasons with Southampton University on Eastern Long Island - six as the head coach of the women's program and seven as an assistant coach with the men's squad. DesLauriers inherited a last place women's program in 1994 and steadily improved its record in each of his six seasons, posting a 37-29 mark over his final two campaigns and achieving a top-eight regional ranking in 1999. In addition to their success on the court, DesLauriers' teams posted a combined 3.0 GPA or better in each of his 12 semesters at Southampton.

DesLauriers helped the men's program win three Division II championships during his tenure as the assistant coach, including one trip to Eastern Final Four.

DesLauriers received his bachelor's degree, Magna Cum Laude, in computer math from Southampton in 1993, also excelling for the Colonials on the court. A setter and the team captain, he is Southampton's all-time assist leader and led the Colonials to the Division II championship in 1992, earning first team All-Division II honors in 1992 and 1993. DesLauriers continued his prolific playing career, starring for the USA Volleyball Men's `A' Team from 1993-99 and taking home first team All-America honors and a national championship in 1995. He was the setter for the USA Volleyball Men's "AA" Team in 1999-2000, finishing as the national runner-up in 1999.

DesLauriers resides in Eastport with his wife Deb and their children, Brittany, Jake and Ayden.
