Sept. 15, 2010

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Greetings and welcome to the first installment of the 2010-11 season Coach's Corner - a monthly newsletter to keep you informed and up to date on Stony Brook Tennis!

I hope you all enjoyed a great summer and are ready for an exciting year of tennis action. This is going to be another busy season for your Seawolves. The weekend of September 17-19 will mark our 4th Annual Stony Brook Classic women's tournament. This year's field includes ten teams and is highlighted by the appearance of Army, Navy, and Radford. Please come out and support your Seawolves. Play starts at 1 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Once again, we will include a One on One Doubles tournament on Sunday.

Coach Ed Krass, the founder and CEO of One on One Doubles will be our special guest as he will Emcee Sunday's event. We encourage you to stop by and enjoy all of the action as well as the rockin' blues. Click Here to visit Ed's website.

Homecoming will be held on Saturday October 9th. In addition to renewing old acquaintances, catching a football game, and seeing all of the exciting changes on campus - you will also have an opportunity to see the men's team in action. We will be hosting the 2nd Annual Stony Brook Invitational on October 9-10 as we welcome a seven-team field to campus. Please stop by the courts throughout the weekend and watch the guys compete. For a complete schedule - please visit our web site at

It's never too early to mark your calendars for the Seawolves Family Funfest. This year's event will be held on Saturday - March 19, 2011 at Eastern Athletic Club.

More information will be forthcoming in the upcoming months. However, if you are not able to wait until the spring to make your PAWS donation - you can click here to make a donation.

If you know of any teammates/supporters that would like to receive the Coach's Corner - please feel free to send me their email address.

Take care and I look forward to seeing you on the other side of the net!
