Stony Brook, N.Y. - Graduating senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia), who led the Stony Brook women's team tennis to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, finished the season ranked third in the Northeast, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Thursday.

Lagvilava, who entered 2013 unranked in the preseason, achieved the highest ranking in program history. The two-time America East Player of the Year went 14-3 in singles action, including wins over Columbia's Nicole Bartnik and Penn's Sol Eskenazi, the first and fifth ranked players in the Northeast, respectively.

Lagvilava also became the first player in Seawolves history to reach the NCAA Singles Championships.

One of Stony Brook's most winningest players, Lagvilava won more than 70 matches during her illustrious career.
