Cambridge, Mass. - Junior Cassandra Dix (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom) and sophomore Jackie AltanSarnai (Hinsdale, Ill.) were named to the America East All-Academic Team, it recently was announced.

Dix, a biochemistry major with a 4.0 GPA, was a key cog in the Seawolves' third straight America East Championship and NCAA tournament berth. An all-conference selection in singles and doubles, Dix went 12-2 in dual singles matches, including a 7-1 mark at No. 5. Dix combined with junior Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) to go 8-0 at No. 2 doubles in dual matches.

AltanSarnai, a business management major with a 3.38 GPA, was named all-conference for a second straight season. She showed her versatility by seeing action in five different places in the lineup during dual matches, finishing with a 9-5 record.

Each nominee must meet the set standards of a cumulative 3.30 or better GPA, have been a starter or significant reserve this past year and participated in at least 50 percent of the teams matches in 2014.
