Stony Brook, N.Y. - Looking to capture a second straight conference crown, the Stony Brook women's tennis heads to UMBC for the America East Championships. The Seawolves, who are the top seed in this year's tournament, will face the winner of No. 4 Binghamton and No. 5 Hartford.

Stony Brook brings an impressive 1-2 punch in senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) and sophomore Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine). Lagvilava and Movchan are the reigning America East Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively.

"We've got to continue to play up to our ability and rise to the challenge," coach Gary Glassman said.

Stony Brook, which entered last year's tournament as the No. 4 seed, knocked off No. 1 Boston University, which had won 18 straight conference crowns.
