Boston, Mass. - The Stony Brook swimming and diving teams will head to Boston on Thursday for the four-day 2012 America East Championship meet at the Boston University Aquatics Center. The first session will kick off on Thursday at 5 p.m. and the meet will continue through Sunday, Feb. 26.

Stony Brook will turn to senior Sean Conway (Oakdale, N.Y.) to boost the men's team in the freestyle events. Conway owns the fourth-fastest time among America East swimmers in the 200 free this season (1:41.53) and has the fifth-fastest mark in the 100 free (46.54).

The Stony Brook women will also be looking to make an impact in the freestyle events. Sophomore Allison Zelnick (Troy, Ohio) owns the sixth-best time in the America East in the 50 free (24.23), while junior Andjelija Sreckovic has the eighth-fastest mark (1:54.20) in the 200 free this year. In addition, Junior Julie Policht (Toronto, Ontario) has the sixth-best time in the 500 free (5:03.48), while senior Darcy Heuser (Centerville, Ohio) has the seventh-fastest mark in the 1000 free (10:28.98).

Policht will also challenge in the butterfly events as her time of 57.25 in the 100 fly ranks fifth among conference competitors and her mark of 2:03.52 in the 200 fly ranks fourth.

Freshman Elizabeth Beckett (Swindon, England) will give the Seawolves another threat in the breaststroke competition as her time of 2:23.10 in the 200 breast is good for fifth-best in the conference.

Stony Brook will be looking to build off a fifth-place finish on the men's side and a sixth-place result on the women's side at the 2011 championship meet.
