Boston, Mass. - The Stony Brook swimming and diving teams wrapped up day one at the Terrier Invitational on Friday night in Boston, Mass. After 10 events, the men's team sits in ninth place, while the women are in seventh.

The men's 200 freestyle relay team of junior Hajime Ichikawa (Scarsdale, N.Y.), senior Ed McIntyre (Laurel, N.Y.), junior David White (Flemington, N.J.) and senior Sean Conway (Oakdale, N.Y.) took seventh in 1:26.81. The women's quartet placed 11th in 1:38.75, but were only .70 seconds away from taking fifth in a tightly-contested event.

Sophomore Allison Zelnick (Troy, Ohio) grabbed another top-10 finish for the Seawolves in the 50 free, placing 10th with a time of 24.23.

The Terrier Invitational will continue Saturday and Sunday on the campus of Boston University.

The Seawolves are one of 10 teams competing on the men's side, including Columbia, Yale, Northeastern, Boston University, UMass, New Hampshire, Boston College, Drexel and Central Connecticut State. Eight competitors (including Stony Brook) are vying for the meet title on the women's side: Yale, Boston College, Boston University, UMass, Drexel, Bryant and Holy Cross.
