NFCA All-Region Teams

Louisville, Ky. - Sophomore Bria Green (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook softball team has been named First-Team All-Mid Atlantic Region, as announced Thursday by the NFCA. Green and the Seawolves will square off against No. 6/8 Missouri on Friday in the Columbia Regional at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN3.

Green leads the Seawolves with a .355 average and a .581 slugging percentage this season. The sophomore is tied for the team lead in home runs with seven and is second on the team with 32 RBI. In her first season with Stony Brook, Green led all America East players with 18 doubles and 100 total bases en route to second-team All-Conference honors.

Green is the eighth NFCA All-Region selection under head coach Megan Bryant. Last season, pitcher Allison Cukrov (Irvine, Calif.) was named second-team All-Region by the NFCA.

A total of 263 players representing 137 different institutions comprised the regional teams, including first and second teams for all 10 regions. The All-Region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region; all the honorees will also be eligible for selection to one of the three 2013 NFCA Division I All-American teams.
