NSCAA All-Northeast Region Teams

Kansas City, Kan. - Senior Sa'sha Kershaw (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Ahriel Fernandez (East Haven, Conn.) of the Stony Brook women's soccer team were named All-Northeast Region by the NSCAA, as announced this week. Kershaw was named second-team All-Northeast Region, while Fernandez garnered a third-team nod.

Kershaw was named first-team All-America East and the Most Outstanding Player of the America East Tournament after leading the Seawolves to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012. Kershaw started every game for SBU and led the team with 2,070 minutes played, while chipping in six goals and three assists. The Baltimore, Md. native finished her illustrious career as the program's all-time points leader (44) since the Seawolves joined the America East in 2001.

A second-team All-America East selection, Fernandez started 21 games in central defense and helped the team post five shutouts, including a 1-0 blanking of Hartford in the conference title game. For her efforts in the tournament, Fernandez was named to the America East All-Tournament team.
