Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team will host conference rival Albany on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Seawolves are 6-0-0 at LaValle Stadium in 2013.

Last Time Out

The Seawolves (7-4-1, 2-1-0 America East) dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Hartford on Thursday as the Hawks' Chanel Johnson scored three goals, including the game-winner 8:24 into overtime to seal the win for the hosts. Junior Christina Casamassina (Farmingville, N.Y.) scored her first collegiate goal and redshirt junior Queli Ornelas (Palm Harbor, Fla.) added her third goal of the season in the defeat.

Scouting Albany

The Great Danes have struggled mightily in 2013, entering the weekend with a 1-11-1 record and an 0-3-1 mark in conference play. Albany's lone victory of the season came in its season opener against Florida Atlantic, a 2-0 win on Aug. 23. Since then, the Great Danes have been outscored 38-8 and have surrendered at least three goals in eight of their last 11 matches. Alexa Schneider leads the team with three goals and six points, while Jackie Ubert has been the squad's most effective keeper with a 1.82 GAA and a .789 save percentage.

Empire Clash

The Stony Brook/Albany rivalry, dubbed the 'Empire Clash', will resume again Sunday at LaValle Stadium. Earlier this season, the Stony Brook men's soccer team scored a victory over its SUNY rivals with a 1-0 overtime victory. The Seawolves' women's soccer team will be looking to secure its first victory over the Great Danes since 2010, a 2-0 victory at Albany.

Defending LaValle

The Seawolves have yet to lose at LaValle Stadium in 2013, posting a perfect 6-0-0 record. Stony Brook has scored 16 of its 22 goals at home, and has only conceded three times on its home turf this season.

Spreading the Wealth

Through 12 games of the 2013 season, 10 different Stony Brook players have found the back of the net. Senior Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) paces the squad with six goals, while Ornelas, sophomore Emily Murrer (Aptos, Calif.) and sophomore Stella Norman (Lakewood, Colo.) are tied for second with three goals apiece.
