Stony Brook, N.Y. - The defending America East regular season co-champion women's soccer team is ramping up for another successful campaign with a competitive spring schedule that will help the team in its quest for another championship season in 2014.

Stony Brook opened its spring with a 1-0 win over NJIT on March 8. Leah Yurko (Cumberland, Md.), who is coming off an America East All-Rookie team season, scored the game-winner for the #Seawolves. Stony Brook had the majority of the possession and multiple chances throughout the match.

The #Seawolves will play four more games during the spring season, hosting Sacred Heart at LaValle Stadium on March 29 at 5 p.m., playing Adelphi and Hartford in West Hartford, Conn., on April 5, taking on 2013 MAAC champion Monmouth on the road on April 12 and closing with a home match against LIU-Brooklyn on April 26 at University Track at 1 p.m.

Stony Brook went 11-6-2 last season and its 6-2-0 record in America East earned the #Seawolves a share of the America East regular season championship. Under head coach Sue Ryan, the #Seawolves will look for a second NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014.
