Cambridge, Mass. – The greatest goalie in Stony Brook women’s lacrosse history and arguably the best goalie in the country needs #Seawolves fans to vote her America East Fans’ Choice Player of the Year. Fans can vote for senior goalie Frankie Caridi of the No. 16/15 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team by liking or sharing her photo on the America East Facebook page.

Caridi is putting together an even better season than she did in 2013 when she led the country in goals-against average (5.71) and save percentage (.530) and anchored a defense that broke a Division I record for scoring defense (5.65). The 2014 ILWomen.com Preseason All-American is once again tops in the country in GAA (4.66) and save percentage (.576) and has the Seawolves first in scoring defense at a staggering 4.81 goals allowed per game.

With Caridi in the cage, the Seawolves have held opponents to single-digit goals in 15 of 16 games and to five goals or fewer 10 times. She is a six-time America East Defensive Player of the Week honoree and was named ECAC Defensive Player of the Week for her seven-save performance in a 15-5 win over New Hampshire Saturday.

Her stellar play has made Stony Brook the top seed in the America East Championship for the second consecutive season.
