South Bend, Ind. – The No. 12/14 Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team’s highly anticipated game against No. 15/15 Notre Dame has been moved to Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Loftus Sports Center. The game was originally scheduled for noon but was pushed back because of winter weather and field conditions at the Irish’s outdoor field.

The Seawolves will first play Monmouth Wednesday at 1 p.m. at LaValle Stadium, where admission is free to all women’s lacrosse games.

Stony Brook beat Bucknell, 18-1, behind school freshman-debut records of seven goals and eight points from attacker Courtney Murphy and nine saves by ILWomen Preseason All-American and senior Frankie Caridi.

The meeting will be the first between the two teams. The Fighting Irish stand at 1-1 on the young season with a win over Cincinnati Feb. 12 and loss to then-No. 17 Boston College Feb. 15. First-year Stony Brook assistant coach Jill Byers produced an illustrious career at Notre Dame, where she was a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist in 2009.
