Weekend Promotions

Stony Brook Athletics will host Santa Day Dec. 22. Following the Seawolves' matchup with Wagner, Old Kris Kringle will be on hand to take pictures with fans. All fans and family members of the four participating teams who contact the reservation desk directly at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook at (631) 941-2980 will receive Seawolves Holiday Classic room rate by mentioning that they will be attending this holiday tournament. Last Time Out

Stony Brook made history Saturday afternoon, improving to 7-3 with a 69-52 win over Monmouth, marking its best start in its Division I era. Sabre Proctor led all scorers with a game-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds. Jessica Ogunnorin recorded her second double-double of the season on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Chikilra Goodman recorded 14 points and game-bests of four steals and four helpers. SB used a 7-0 run capped by an Ogunnorin put back to go in front by 14, 39-25, at the half and kept the lead in double digits the entire second stanza for its third consecutive win.

Scouting the Seawhawks

Wagner (1-8) has dropped seven straight contests after a late comeback attempt fell short in a 69-56 loss to Eastern Michigan Saturday afternoon in the first game of the Seawolves Holiday Classic. Sophomore guard Jaclyn Peck serves as the Seahawks' most prolific offensive threat as she is averaging 18.6 points per game.

Series History vs. the Seahawks

This is the first meeting between the two teams since 1976, when Stony Brook claimed a 71-44 win. Wagner holds a 4-2 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to 1969. 

Envelope, Please....

After leading the Seawolves to a 2-0 week with wins at St. Peter's and Lafayette, junior forward Sabre Proctor and freshman guard Kori Bayne-Walker were named America East Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Gotta Make Those Free Throws

Stony Brook is shooting a much-improved 72.4 percent from the line this season, up from 60.6 percent in 2012-13. Brittany Snow entered the weekend third in the league and in the nation's top 100 in free throw percentage (.868), while Sabre Proctor tied a school single-game mark for free throw percentage by going 10-for-10 against Morgan State Nov. 25.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

The Seawolves are eighth in the most recent Newsday Metro Poll and received votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll Nov. 19 and Nov. 26.

Mediterranean Invasion

Junior transfer Jessica Ogunnorin has recorded double-digits in scoring in five of her first eight games as a Seawolf. She sat eighth in the league in rebounding (6.9) and tops in offensive boards per contest (3.7) entering the weekend.

Chikilra, Chikilra

Senior guard Chikilra Goodman is 14th nationally in steals and 24th in assist-to-turnover ratio. She ranks second on the Seawolves and in the America East's top 10 in scoring average at 13.1 points per game prior to this weekend's tournament and has reached double-figures in scoring in six consecutive contests.

Beasts on the Boards

The Seawolves have led nine of their first 10 opponents in offensive rebounds and pulled down a stellar 21 offensive boards in their opener against NJIT Nov. 8. Not only do they lead the league in offensive rebounding at 16.2 per game, the Seawolves are second in rebounding offense (41.6) and third in rebounding defense (35.1).

Sabremetrics

Junior forward Sabre Proctor posted a career-best 24 points and tied a school record for single-game free throw percentage by going 10-for-10 from the line as Stony Brook trounced Morgan State, 79-55, Nov. 25. She has reached double-figures in scoring eight times and 20 or more points three times.

Let It Snow

Sophomore forward Brittany Snow continues to one-up her promising freshman campaign that netted her America East All-Rookie accolades. She entered the weekend third in the America East and in the nation's top 100 in free throw percentage at a .860 clip after shooting .632 from the charity stripe last season. She was also fifth in the league in offensive boards per game at 2.7.

Perfect 10

By sinking all 10 of her free throws Nov. 25 against Morgan State, Sabre Proctor tied Theresa LoParrino (14-for-14 vs. La.-Lafayette, Dec. 2, 2000), Mykeema Ford (11-for-11 at Maine, Jan. 17, 2007) and Beth Grys (10-for-10 vs. Southampton, Dec. 30, 1997) for Stony Brook's single-game free throw percentage record. She also became the first AE player to go at least 10-for-10 from the line since Vermont's May Kotsopoulos (13-for-13) on Feb. 10, 2010.

Brittany Makes History

After scoring a combined four points in SB's first two contests, sophomore forward Brittany Snow broke through with 30 points to go along with a then-career-high nine boards at Bradley Nov. 15. She became the first Seawolf to reach 30 points since Mykeema Ford recorded 32 against Boston University in 2007.

Light `Em Up

SB hit the 80-point mark for the first time in the Beth O'Boyle era in their 83-79 victory at Bradley Nov. 15, having most recently posted 81 points against Nicholls State Nov. 24, 2010. The Seawolves' thumped St. Peter's, 77-47, Dec. 4 for their first win by 30 or more points since downing St. Francis (N.Y.), 71-40, in Dec. 6 2009.

Opening Night Done Right

Stony Brook's 50-44 win over NJIT at a sold-out Pritchard Gymnasium Nov. 8 was its first victory in a season opener since 2010-11 (Troy) and first in a home opener since 2007-08 (Iona).

Preseason Pick

Stony Brook has been picked third in the America East preseason coaches' poll. It is the second highest preseason spot in program history for the Seawolves, who were chosen second in 2006-07, and their best since being slotted fourth in 2010-11.
