About the Game: Stony Brook tries to return to the win column on Wednesday night, hosting preseason conference favorite UMBC. The Seawolves concluded a two-game road trip with a 57-47 loss to Albany on Saturday. 



Meet the Seawolves: Junior Dani Klupenger is third in the America East in made three-point field goals per game (1.7) during conference play. Senior Whitney Davis scored 16 points on Saturday against Albany after recording her first career double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) last Wednesday against Binghamton. 

Scouting UMBC: UMBC snapped on a three-game losing streak with 66-44 win over Maine on Saturday. The preseason favorite to the win the conference, the Retrievers are tied for third with Hartford in the America East standings. Senior Erin Brown leads the America East in scoring at 15.2 points per game while fellow senior Michelle Kurowski is sixth at 13.1 points per contest. Freshman Lauren Chase is averaging a conference-best 4.7 assists per game for the Retievers, who are in third in scoring (59.4 points per game) and second in field goal percentage (.380) during America East play. Brown led five UMBC players in double-figures with 20 points in the first meeting between the teams this season. 

Last time out: Senior forward Erin Brown led four Retrievers in double figures with 18 points, as UMBC defeated visiting Maine, 66-44, Saturday afternoon at the RAC Arena. Senior guard Michelle Kurowski totaled 15 points, freshman guard Lauren Chase scored 12, and senior Topé Obajolu added 10 points for the Retrievers.
