Call tapped as assistant coach, McMorris as Director of Basketball Operations

Stony Brook women's basketball head coach Caroline McCombs announced the hiring of Tatiyiana McMorris as Director of Basketball Operations in July 2014. It is a homecoming for McMorris, who is a native of the Bronx, N.Y., and attended John F. Kennedy High School.

McMorris, a former All-BIG EAST selection at Marquette, arrived at Stony Brook after working as a graduate assistant at UMass-Amherst last season. During her time with the Minutewomen, McMorris acted as the video coordinator, assisted with scouts and monitored study hall.

During her standout career at Marquette, McMorris led the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Tournament in 2009-10 and 2010-11, advancing to the second round in 2010-11, and the 2007-08 WNIT Semifinals. A prolific 3-point shooter, she finished fourth in school history with a 37.1 3-point field goal percentage and competed in the 2011 State Farm Women's 3-Point Shooting Contest. She was named second-team All-BIG EAST and the Golden Eagles' Most Valuable Offensive Player as a senior and was a BIG EAST All-Academic honoree as a junior.

McMorris coached Ring City, one of the top AAU programs in the country, which is currently named NY iExcel, under head coach Walter Welsh in 2012. As an assistant coach at Sussex Hamilton High School in Sussex, Wis., she helped the program win its first-ever Greater Metro Championship.

She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Marquette.
