Stony Brook, N.Y. - Hello and welcome to the second fall edition of the Coach's Corner, a monthly newsletter to keep you informed and up-to-date on Stony Brook Tennis!

It's been a busy and productive fall season thus far. After hosting a very successful 2nd Annual Stony Brook Classic - the women headed up to West Point, NY to compete in the Eastern Collegiate Invitational. Salome Mkervalidze '12 (Brewster, NY) captured the B Flight Championship in singles. It marked the first time a Seawolf has ever won a title at that prestigious event! Fanny Charliquart '11 (Gueugnon, France) advanced to the finals of the C Flight and notched some quality victories along the way.

We hosted the 10th Annual Stony Brook 3-Way on October 4th, and both squads came away with a 2-0 record. Next up is the ITA Regional Championships. The men will head to Yale this weekend where Ivan Rummel '11 (Budapest, Hungary) has earned a seed in the singles championship based on his strong results this fall. The women will compete at Penn the weekend of October 24-26.

This Saturday is Homecoming and the Wolfstock celebration. Football is hosting Charleston Southern and there are plenty of activities to be had for everybody. It's not too late to register by visiting our web site at www.goseawolves.org It's never too early to get a head start on your holiday shopping. This year we will once again be running our T-shirt fund-raiser promotion. As a bonus - we will be offering a long sleeve and a short sleeve option. Please let us know what size you would like and we will get a shirt out to you right away. All we are requiring is that you make a PAWS contribution of your choice to the Tennis Program.

Also, please mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual FunFest. This year's FunFest will take place on Saturday March 21st and we hope to get our biggest crowd ever. More information will be forthcoming in the months to come.

Take care and we'll see you on the other side of the net!
