Cambridge, Mass. - Sophomore Mons Knudtzon (Oslo, Norway) of the Stony Brook men's tennis team was named America East Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Knudtzon won a pair of singles matches, including a doubles victory that helped the Seawolves earn their first win of the season.

Knudtzon kicked off a solid weekend with the Seawolves' only singles win over Binghamton, rallying for a three-set victory. Despite falling in No. 1 doubles against the Bearcats, Knudtzon's victories at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles helped Stony Brook top Hartford, 4-0, for its first victory of the season.

Stony Brook hosts Boston University and NJIT this weekend at University Courts.
