New Haven, Conn. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team wrapped up the fall season, competing in the USTA/ITA Regional Championships at Yale University. More than 100 athletes competed in the six-day event.

Freshman Rick Timmerman (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) beat Lehigh's Mitchell Petersen, 6-4, 6-4, before falling in the second to Cornell's Dima Dragos, 6-2, 6-1.

Sophomore Mons Knudtzon (Oslo, Norway) fell to Phil Nelson of Boston College, 6-2, 6-2, in the regional draws, but defeated Fahoum Fahoum of Quinnipiac, 6-3, 6-3, in the singles consolation.

Timmerman and freshman Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) lost to NJIT's Rousar and Artursson, 8-5.

Sophomore Albert Fontova (Lleida, Spain) and Locatelli dropped consolation matches.

The Seawolves will kick off 2013 spring season against Connecticut on February 8.
