Columbia, Md. - The Stony Brook men's tennis team will play for America East Championship title after defeating UMBC, 4-3, in a thrilling match that came down to the final singles flight.

With the match tied at three, freshman Raphael Termat (Nice, France) out-dueled UMBC's Melker Svaard in a three-set tiebreaker, winning 6-4 at No. 2 to lift the Seawolves to the title game.

Freshman Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) topped Eliott Loubatie, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and sophomore Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) bested Daniel Gray, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.

The Seawolves took a 1-0 lead into singles play with doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Both matches ended with 8-6 decisions.

Stony Brook will face Binghamton, a 4-0 winner over Hartford, on Sunday, April 27 at 10 a.m. The Seawolves lost to the Bearcats, 4-2, on April 18.
