#Seawolves defeat Fordham, fall to NJIT

The Stony Brook men's tennis team played two matches this past week, beating Fordham Saturday before losing to NJIT Sunday. The Seawolves topped the Rams, 4-2, and lost to the Highlanders by the same score.
Despite losing the doubles point to Fordham, Stony Brook claimed singles wins at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5. Freshman Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) dominated at No. 3, beating Michael Puntillo, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Raphael Termat (Nice, France) won his match, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 and sophomore Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) was victorious, 6-4, 6-2.
Sophomore Marcelo Locatteli (Londrina, Brazil) was ahead, 6-0, 3-0 at No. 5 singles before his opponent defaulted.
Termat and freshman Brandon Stone (Melville, N.Y.) picked the Seawolves' only two singles victories against NJIT. Termat led Holger Norregaard, 6-1, 3-1, before Norregaard retired. Stone rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Carl Jedlinski at No. 6 singles.
Freshman Alexandre Felisa (Boulogne, France) and Morales battled for a 9-8 win at No. 1 singles.
Stony Brook has four matches this week beginning Tuesday at Long Island rival Hofstra at 10 a.m.
