In its first conference match of the 2013 season, the Stony Brook men's tennis team fell to UMBC, 5-2. The Seawolves captured the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and 2 doubles.

The duo of sophomore Mons Knudtzon (Oslo, Norway) and freshman Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) beat the team of Carter and Berret, 8-6. Senior Robert Forai (Novi Sad, Serbia) and freshman Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) defeated Svard/Loubatie, 8-5.

Knudtzon also won the only singles point for Stony Brook, capturing the third set, 10-9, in a tiebreaker.

The Seawolves will continue conference play at Binghamton next Saturday. Stony Brook also will play Hartford later in the day.
