Men's tennis falls to ASA College, 5-2

Stony Brook, N.Y. -

The Stony Brook men's tennis team fell to ASA College, 5-2, in its first home meet of the 2013 season. Freshman Vinicius Degani (Sao Paolo, Brazil) led the Seawolves with a win at No. 6 singles and teamed with freshman Rick Timmermann (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) for a victory at No. 3 doubles.

Degani won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, over Zurab Tskhakaia. Degani and Timmermann combined for an easy 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Freshman Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) beat Christian Waldron, 6-4, 6-2, for the other win in singles play.

Stony Brook will face America East rival UMBC at home on Friday afternooon at 1 p.m.
