New Haven, Conn. -

Just days before its spring break trip to Florida, the Stony Brook men's tennis team spent its weekend competing at the Yale 4-Way in New Haven. The Seawolves lost to Yale, 6-1, and Marist, 5-1, before edging Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-3.

Despite a win from sophomores Jose Morales (Bradenton, Fla.) and Marcelo Locatelli (Londrina, Brazil) at No. 2 doubles, the Knights captured the doubles point in a pair of 8-7 wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles.

Morales and Locatelli were victorious in their singles matches, and freshmen Raphael Termat (Nice, France) and Tyler Hoffman (Sayville, N.Y.) each held on for wins as Stony Brook pulled out the victory.

Junior Albert Fontova (Lleida, Spain) picked up the only point for the Seawolves against Yale as he rallied for a win at No. 6 singles, defeating Alex Hagermoser, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.

At No. 5 singles, Hoffman forced a third-set tiebreaker, but fell 10-7 to Zach Krumholz.

Felisa and Morales team for a win at No. 3 doubles against Marist, beating the duo of Rossi and Reznek.

The Seawolves will travel to central Florida for matches against Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday and Florida Tech on Thursday
