Swimming and diving concludes regular season at Binghamton

Vestal, N.Y. - The Stony Brook swimming and diving teams wrapped up the regular season on Saturday at Binghamton, falling 173-127 on the women's side and 172.5-108.5 on the men's side.
Senior Darcy Heuser (Centerville, Ohio) produced a standout effort with three individual wins in the 100 free, 500 free and 1,000 free. Heuser's time of 10:28.98 in the 1,000 free was a new season best for the team.
Sophomore Allison Zelnick (Troy, Ohio) also turned in a season-best effort in the 200 backstroke, touching first with a mark of 2:07.88. Junior Andjelija Sreckovic (Jagodina, Serbia) added another first-place finish for the women's team in the 200 freestyle, while senior Stephanie Gross (Fairport, N.Y.) also took top honors in the 100 fly.
On the men's side, freshman Cole Underwood (Collegeville, Pa.) had a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 free (1:47.21) and 500 free (4:53.25).
The Seawolves will have three weeks to prepare for the 2012 America East Championship meet, which is scheduled for Feb. 23-26 in Boston, Mass. The conference championship meet will represent Stony Brook's third trip to Boston this season after competing against Boston University and Maine on Nov. 5 and the Terrier Invitational on Nov. 18-20.
