NSCAA Team Academic Award Winners

Kansas City, Kan. - The Stony Brook men's and women's soccer programs were honored by the NSCAA for academic performance, as announced Thursday. Both programs posted team GPA's over 3.0 for the 2012-13 academic year and earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year. Stony Brook was one of just 182 institutions nationwide to place both programs on the award list, and one of four America East schools (Albany, Binghamton, New Hampshire) to earn dual accolades.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization with members at every level of the game. The organization annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.
