Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman Kyle Rowe (Vienna, Va.) of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team garnered the final America East Rookie of the Week award for the 2014 season, the conference announced Monday.

In a must-win game against Hartford for the final berth in the America East Championship, Rowe won 17 of 28 face-offs, recorded 13 ground balls and tallied two points.

In 14 regular season games, Rowe already has etched his name in the NCAA's Division I single-season record books. His 145 ground balls are tied for 13th most in a season in Division I history.

Rowe leads the America East with a .624 face-off win percentage and ground balls per game (9.67).

The Seawolves, who are seeded fourth, take on No. 1 Albany Thursday at 7:30. Stony Brook is making its 12th straight appearance in the conference tournament.
