Faceoff: The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team will travel to face Albany in the longest-standing rivalry in program history. The Seawolves and Great Danes also have met in the America East Championship in 10 of the last 11 seasons.
Opponent: Albany's high-powered offense is led by Lyle and Miles Thompson. The brothers have combined to total 63 goals and 62 assists. Their cousin, Ty Thompson, has 20 goals and five assists. The Great Danes offense is averaging a Division I-best 14.90 goals per game. Blaze Riorden has a .559 save percentage and an 11.73 goals against average.
Series: After winning the regular season finale and a semifinal game last season, Albany leads the all-time series, 14-13. Winning streaks have been the story of the series between the two programs. Albany, which is on the two-game winning streak, won five in a row from 2006-08. Stony Brook owned the series from 2009-12, winning seven in a row.
