About The Game: Stony Brook hosts Vermont to open 2012 America East Conference play.  The Seawolves are 11-0 all-time against the Catamounts, who recorded their only win of the season against Sacred Heart, 12-11.  Stony Brook is the two-time defending America East regular-season champs.  The Seawolves have won their last two conference openers.

Scouting Vermont: Vermont (1-7) also faced Virginia, Fairfield and Bryant earlier this season, losing to all three by a combined 20 goals.  Junior Drew Philie leads the Catamounts with 14 goals and Geoff Worley is tops with 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists).  Connor McNamara, who scored the game-winning goal against Sacred Heart with 10 seconds left in regulation, has 13 goals this season.  David Barton, whose started the last two games, owns a .494 save percentage and a 13.28 goals against average.

Last Time Out: Junior Sean Brady was outstanding in goal, finishing with 10 saves, but Bryant's Matt Larson scored 35 seconds into double overtime to lift the Bulldogs past -the Seawolves, 10-9, Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. Redshirt freshman Mike Rooney tallied his third hat trick of the season to lead all players.

Seawolves News and Notes: Mike Rooney was named America East Rookie of the Week for a second time this year after totaling five goals and two assists against Siena and Bryant ... he's tops among all freshmen midfielders in the country with 14 goals ... Stony Brook's 9-4 lead in the third quarter at Siena was its largest in any game this season ... Stony Brook has not lost an America East regular-season game since falling at #8 UMBC, 14-8, on March 29, 2009, a span of 14 games ... Sophomore defensive midfielder Cole Millican is in the midst of a three-game point streak.
