Tundo's career day leads Men's lacrosse past St. John's
Senior Jeff Tundo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) set a career-high with nine points as the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team picked up its second road win of the season with a 11-7 win over St. John's on Tuesday. Tundo tallied six of his nine points in the first half for the Seawolves, who limited their turnovers to only nine through the first three quarters.

Faceoff: In a tune-up before the start of America East Conference play, the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team takes on St. John’s of the Big East.  The Seawolves are looking for their fourth straight win over a Big East squad, defeating Rutgers and the Red Storm last year and the Scarlet Knights this year.

Opponent: Senior Kieran McArdle, a Connetquot High School graduate and one of the best attackmen in the country, leads the Red Storm in goals (19) and assists (18).  McArdle is one of a handful of Long Island players expect to see time tomorrow.  Seniors Colin Keegan and Kevin Cernuto have tallied 20 points apiece.  Freshman Joseph Danaher, who's from Massapequa Park, has started all seven games in goal and owns a .504 save percentage and a 10.96 goals against average.

Series: Stony Brook leads the all-time series, 3-2, winning the three of the last four meetings.  In last year’s game, Jeff Tundo had five goals and four assists in an 11-7 win.  In 2011, Stony Brook was ranked fifth when it defeated St. John’s, 9-4.

Up Next: Stony Brook will open America East play at UMBC on Friday, March 28.
