About The Game: Stony Brook hosts Marist in the 2012 home opener.  The Seawolves are 12-2 all-time against the Red Foxes, who lost at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, 14-4, in 2008.  In last year's game in Poughkeepsie, Stony Brook reeled off eight straight goals after trailing 7-5.  Marist was held to just two second-half goals.

Scouting Marist: Marist, picked behind Detroit and Siena, in the Metro Atlantic Athletics Conference preseason coaches’ poll, won its first game of the year, 12-10, over Sacred Heart.  Preseason All-American Connor Rice had two goals and two assists against the Pioneers last Sunday.  Jack Doherty led all players with three goals.  Dave Scarcello and Craig Goodermote split time in goal, combining to make 16 saves.



Last Time Out: Stony Brook's men's lacrosse team lost at No. 1 Virginia, 12-5, before 2,221 at Klöckner Stadium last Saturday. Senior Kyle Belton (Langley, British Columbia) led the Seawolves (0-2) with two goals. Colin Briggs led Virginia (3-0) with three goals and four assists.

Seawolves News and Notes: Senior Robbie Campbell’s (Delta, British Columbia) two goals and two assists against Fairfield earned him America East Player of the Week honors ... Campbell reached the 100-point plateau against the Stags ... Mike Rooney, Nick Watson and Devin Feeney were first-time starters against Virginia ... Russ Bonanno has tallied at least one point in 15 of 16 career games and two points in 10 games.
