Charlotte, N.C. - Senior Kyle Essington (Chino Hills, Calif.) of the Stony Brook football team has been named Big South Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday morning.

Esssington tied the Stony Brook and Big South single-game records with five touchdown passes in a 49-7 win over Charleston Southern. He tossed three scores to senior Jordan Gush (Richardson, Texas) and two to senior Kevin Norrell (Los Angeles, Calif.).

The last time a Stony Brook player threw five TD passes was Josh Dudash vs. Central Connecticut on November 4, 2006.

He was 13 of 19 for 263 yards, connecting with Gush or Norrell for each of his completions.

Essington shares the award with Liberty's Josh Woodrum, who was 25 of 31 for 363 yards and three TDs.
