Kickoff: After a season-opening victory over Rhode Island, the No. 13 Stony Brook football team travels upstate to take on FBS Buffalo Saturday. Mike Solano (PBP) and Curt Hylton (color) will call the action on the new home of Stony Brook Football, Champions Radio. Fans can listen to the game on 107.1 and 96.9 as well as online at ChampionsRadio.com. Michael Reghi and Forrest Conoly will have the call on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App.
Opponent: Buffalo enters its home opener coming off losses to No. 3 Ohio State and No. 23 Baylor. Alex Neutz led all players with 197 receiving yards in a 70-13 loss to the Bears. Baylor totaled more than 500 yards of total offense on its way to 56 first-half points. Branden Oliver leads the rushing attack with 105 yards and the Bulls' only rushing touchdown. Joe Licata (399 yards, 3 TDs) threw for 214 yards and a touchdown last Saturday. The defense is led by Khalil Mack, who returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown against Ohio State.
Series: Buffalo, which leads the series 1-0, beat Stony Brook, 35-7, in 2011. The Seawolves tied the game at seven after a touchdown from Jordan Gush, but Buffalo scored 28 unanswered points. Stony Brook's rushing attack accounted for 175 yards.
