Stony Brook, N.Y. -

In the 12th installment of #SeawolvesSnaps, GoSeawolves.org returns to its Roster Rundown. Today, we look at the defensive line. For season tickets, please call (631) 632-WOLF or CLICK HERE

Outlook
Forcing the quarterback out of his comfort zone is only one of the responsibilities defensive linemen face. Keeping guys fresh and their motor running is vital to getting a good pass rush. Head Coach Chuck Priore is excited about his depth along the line and believes he's got a solid two-deep at every position.

Junior Kevin Hauter (6-2, 260) will return to a starting role at nose tackle. He finished among the team leaders in tackles for loss (7.0) and sacks (5.0). Sophomore Dante Allen (6-5, 275), who will back-up Hauter, was outstanding against Montana State, recording two sacks and a forced fumble. Senior Dimetrius Bernard (6-3, 270) could move into the starting spot at defensive tackle. Redshirt freshman Aaron Thompson (6-3, 275) used last year to get bigger and stronger.

Priore has luxury of bringing back three defensive ends who started a bunch of games last season. Senior Junior Solice (6-2, 250) missed the first half of last season with an injury, but responded with a strong second-half. Priore expects sophomore Victor Ochi (6-2, 255) to be a major contributor in 2013. Ochi made 45 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss as a redshirt freshman. Senior Leston Simpson (6-2, 265), the team's Defensive Rookie of the Year, led the Seawolves with 10 tackles for loss. Sophomore Dimitry Russ (6-2, 250) also will see time at defensive end.

Final Thoughts
Aside from Bernard and Thompson, each of the players mentioned saw time in the Montana State game, an aspect Priore thinks will be beneficial in the first season of CAA Football, which is known for having mobile quarterbacks.

Stat Stuffers
• Allen, Solice and Hauter recorded sacks against Montana State
• Stony Brook held Montana State to four three-and-out series
• The defensive line is on a three-game sack streak
