Baltimore, Md. - The Stony Brook football team was picked to finish ninth out of 12 teams in the Colonial Athletic Association, it was announced Wednesday at the conference's Media Day at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens.

Voting for the preseason poll as well as the all-conference team was done by the league coaches and sports information directors.

The Seawolves, who will begin their second season in the CAA, finished eighth in the conference last year with a 3-5 record. They bring back 12 starters and 39 letterwinners from last year's team, which will play 12 games this year for the first time in school history.

New Hampshire was picked to win the CAA with 15 first-place votes. Villanova and Richmond, both of which will not play Stony Brook, was chosen second and third, respectively. William & Mary, which will face the Seawolves on September 27, was picked fourth. Last year's national runner-up, Towson, went fifth and Delaware, the other school Stony Brook won't face this season, sixth.

Maine was picked to finish seventh, followed by James Madison, which received a first-place vote, the Seawolves, Albany, Rhode Island and Elon, a newcomer to the CAA.

Stony Brook will report for preseason training camp on Friday, August 1 for Saturday's first session of the summer.

Season tickets are on sale for $85 per seat and $75 per seat when four or more are purchased.

Season parking passes are available for $75.
