Cambridge, Mass. – The Stony Brook men’s and women’s basketball teams will make at least seven combined appearances on ESPN’s family of networks during the 2013-14 regular season as part of the largest television package in America East history, the conference announced Tuesday.  In addition, every America East Championship game will be broadcast on an ESPN platform, with the men’s and women’s finals being televised on ESPN2 and ESPNU, respectively.

Five men’s contests will air on the ESPN family of networks, headlined by a date with rival Vermont Friday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. at Pritchard Gymnasium that will be nationally televised on ESPNU. The #Seawolves will make their first ESPN3 appearance of the season in a Sunday matinee at Hartford Jan. 12 at 2:30 p.m. Stony Brook will again be on the broadband network when it travels to UMBC Monday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. and will appear on ESPN3 twice in February (at Binghamton Feb. 4 and at Vermont Feb. 27.).

The final game of the regular season, a Seawolves matchup with Albany Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m., may also be picked up by ESPN3 as part of the conference’s wild card selection.

Two women’s road contests will be seen on ESPN3, with Stony Brook’s games at Vermont (Jan. 23) and SUNY rival Albany (March 1) set to air on the broadband network.

Both teams are coming off strong campaigns in 2012-13. The men’s team posted a program Div. I record 25 wins, captured the America East regular season championship for the third time in four years and advanced to the second round of the NIT. The women recorded the seventh-best turnaround in the nation with a 10-win improvement from 2011-12.

ESPN3 is available in approximately 82 million homes at no cost to fans who receive a high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Major cable providers within the America East footprint that provide ESPN3 access are Cablevision, Comcast, Cox, RCN, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS TV. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks.

Games on ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPNU are also accessible through WatchESPN, ESPN’s authenticated networks service. Live streams of all the WatchESPN Networks are available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription.

The men's & women's teams will combine to host 27 games at Pritchard Gymnasium in 2013-14. For tickets, call (631) 632-4513 or visit GoSeawolves.org/tickets.
