Bat Blast

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook baseball team recently held its eighth annual Bat Blast fundraising event with sophomore Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) winning the championship.

The batting practice competition involved each student-athlete earning a specific number of sponsored pitches based on the amount they raised for the program. Points are scored during each player's at-bat, and the player with the highest batting average is declared the winner.

Stony Brook returns 19 letterwinners from last season's team that advanced to the America East Championship for the eighth consecutive season, the longest active streak among America East schools. The #Seawolves are also just one season removed from their magical run to the College World Series. Stony Brook will begin spring training in mid January in time for its season opener Feb. 14 at Southern Miss.
