Stony Brook, N.Y. - Pitchers Tim Knesnik (Milford, Pa.) and Nick Brass (Shirley, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook baseball team were recently named summer league All-Stars. Knesnik, who plays for the Rochester Ridgemen, was named an All-Star in the NYCBL, while Brass, a member of the Center Moriches Battlecats, earned an HCBL All-Star nod.

Knesnik was named to the Second Impact squad in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) All-Star Game on July 9. Knesnik's team came up one run short in the game as the Roberto's Kids squad prevailed by an 8-7 score at McDonough Ballpark in Geneva, N.Y.

Knesnik owns a 4-2 record with a 3.55 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 43 innings for the Ridgemen thus far. A second-team All-America East selection, Knesnik posted a 4-1 record with a 3.73 ERA in his first year with the Seawolves.

Brass was selected to the South Team in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL) All-Star Game, which was played July 13 at Cochran Park in Peconic, N.Y. The North All-Stars won the game, 4-1.

In 12 relief appearances, Brass owns a 3.17 ERA and 21 strikeouts for Center Moriches this summer. Brass appeared in seven games for Stony Brook as a freshman and posted 11 strikeouts in 11.1 innings pitched.
