Stony Brook, N.Y. - Former Stony Brook baseball pitcher Tom Koehler '08 has been in the big leagues with the Miami Marlins since being recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on April 19. But it wasn't until Thursday, June 20 that he was able to taste his first MLB win. 

Thursday night in San Francisco, Koehler tossed seven strong innings, no-hitting the Giants through the first 5-2/3 innings. He finished the night giving up just three hits and three walks while striking out three, and the Marlins rewarded him by rallying for two runs in the eighth inning and holding on to beat San Francisco 2-1. In what had been Koehler's eighth start since re-joining the Marlins, he finally had the elusive "W" next to his name.
