Mazzurco Named America East Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. - Junior Steven Mazzurco (Selden, N.Y.) earned America East Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday, after the outfielder helped the Seawolves to a split of a four-game series with UMBC over the weekend.

Mazzurco is currently fourth in the league with a .373 average after hitting .579 with eight RBI and four runs scored in five games last week. He went 7-for-9 with five RBI in the Seawolves' doubleheader split with UMBC on Sunday, including a 5-for-6 performance in the 16-5 victory. The junior outfielder also went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Stony Brook's 5-1 win over the Retrievers in the first game on Saturday, including the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Seawolves wrap up their home schedule on Tuesday, hosting the Seton Hall Pirates at University Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
