Dave Lorber joined the Stony Brook coaching staff in February 2011 after one season as an assistant coach at Felician College in Rutherford, N.J.
Lorber worked with pitchers and catchers and ran the team defense while at Felician. Under Lorber's guidance, the Felician pitching staff set a school record for ERA (3.31) in 2011.
Prior to his stint at Felician, he was an Associate Head Coach at Eastern University in St. David, Pa. where he was responsible for the pitching, player development for hitters and team defense.
In 2010, Eastern set a school record with 21 wins after winning just three games the season before in addition to lowering the team ERA by five points.
Lorber was a two-year letterwinner at Central Connectcut State University, leading the Blue Devils to the finals of the 2007 Northeast Conference tournament.
Lorber graduated with a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut in 2008.
