Cambridge, Mass. –Annie Keown paced the Stony Brook women’s cross country team in the final home meet of her collegiate career on her way to being named America East Performer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.

Keown finished fifth overall and first among Seawolves at the annual Wolfie Invite this past Saturday, clocking in at 18:37.99 in the 5k race and holding her own against a pair of top-10 teams in the northeast region in Providence and Columbia.

Providence, the 2012 national cross country champion, currently sits atop the USTFCCCA regional rankings, while Columbia is fifth. The Auckland, New Zealand native helped the traditionally solid, six-time defending America East champions maintain a No. 12 regional ranking in the poll.

Keown and the Seawolves return to action Friday, Sept. 27 at the Boston College Invitational at Frankin Park in Boston, Mass.
