Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's men's and women's cross country teams will host their season opener Saturday, September 1. The Seawolves will face Manhattan, Quinnipiac and Southern Connecticut State to open 2012.

The men's team will be lead by junior Eric Speakman (Napier, New Zealand) and sophomore Daniel Denis (Bayport, N.Y.). Speakman placed third at the 2011 America East Championships, earning a spot at the regionals. Denis finished 28th.

The women's team will be in search of a sixth straight conference title. Senior Annie Keown (Auckland, New Zealand) and junior Olivia Burne (Palmerston North, New Zealand) will be the strength of the squad. Seniors Mary O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland) and Page Price (Tampa, Fla.) add depth.

New Hampshire will host the America East Championships on October 27.
