Cambridge, Mass. - For a second straight week, senior Lucy Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) of the Stony Brook women's track & field team has been named America East Track Performer of the Week.

Van Dalen competed in the Millrose Games' inaugural Women's Wanamaker Metric Mile, finishing seventh in a school-record 4:11.78. The only collegian to run in the event, Van Dalen's time is the fastest 1,500 by a woman this season.

Her time is the best by a New Zealander in 1,500 history.  The previous record (4:16.7) stood for more than 31 years.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced that senior Patricia Barry (Tipperary, Ireland) and senior Hayley Green (Wellington, New Zealand) and the women's cross country team earned the organization's All-Academic honors.

Stony Brook will compete in the America East Track Championships this weekend at Boston University.
