Vestal, N.Y. – Junior Olivia Burne posted an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:26.24 in a title-clinching win in the women’s 1500-meter to highlight the final day of competition for the Stony Brook men’s and women’s track and field programs at the America East Outdoor Championships Saturday. 

Christina Melian also performed well in the 1500, taking fifth in 4:34.01.

Mary O’Connor, Burne, Page Price and Danielle Cornell came in third in the women’s 4x800-meter relay, qualifying for the ECACs in the process with a time of 9:08.61.

Tyler Frigge placed eighth in the men’s 1500-meter in 3:55.52, while Terry Martin took eighth in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.

Robert Taylor, Matthew Granata, Martin and Vincenzo Battaglia nabbed third in the men’s 4x400-meter relay in 3:18.95.

Anthony Fratto placed sixth in the hammer throw with a 48.18-meter heave.

Both squads finished seventh. Up next, the select Seawolves will head to the ECACs May 10-12 in Princeton, N.J.
