Philadelphia, Pa. - A trio of Stony Brook ladies competed on day one of the Penn Relays. Senior Patricia Barry (Tipperary, Ireland) captured fourth in the college women's 10,000m championship in one of the final events of the evening.

Barry ran the race in 35:35.45, finishing ahead of runners from the likes of Indiana, Syracuse and Iona. Barry's time is an ECAC qualifying mark.

In the college women's 3,000 steeplechase, senior Carolina Cortes (Woodmere, N.Y.) placed ninth in a time of 10:44.10. Junior Annie Keown (Auckland, New Zealand) finished 20th in the 3,000 (10:01.38).
