Hand breaks school record, Burne dazzles for #Seawolves in pair of Friday meets

Junior breaks 11-year-old record, Burne runs one of the fastest miles filmed in the country

2002-03: Had an impressive debut at the Ram Invitational after a year off, capturing both the weight throw ( 16.78m) and shot put (15.01m) . . . set two school records and qualified for the IC4A Championships in both the weight throw and shot put at the Yale Invite . . . captured the weight throw with a toss of 56 feet, two and a half inches and finished in second place in the shot put with his mark of 50 feet, 11 and a half inches . . . won the shot put at the Manhattan Invite with a toss of of 53 feet, 3/4 inches . . . also qualified for the Met Championships in the weight throw, finishing fifth with a toss of 54 feet, one and 1/4 inches . . . placed third in both the shot put and the weight throw at the Terrier Classic . . . finished second in the shot put at the Met Championships with a throw of 51 feet, 6 1/4 inches . . .took second at the America East Track and Field Championship in the shot put with a throw of 15.98 and fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 15.35m . . . had an outstanding day at the Monmouth Invite, where he finished among the top four in three events . . . he was runner-up in the discus with a throw of 155 feet, six inches, and third in the hammer with a distance of 159 feet, eight inches . . . he was also fourth in the shot put (51 feet, one and 3/4 inches) . . . finished in the top three in three events at the SCSU Invite . . . broke a school record in the hammer throw, taking second place with a throw of 172 feet. six inches . . . he also took second in the discus (145 feet, three inches) and third in the shot put (49 feet, 2 1/2 inches) . . . finished in the top four in three events at the MET Championships . . . placed second in the shot put (51 feet, 5 inches) and placed fourth in both the discus (137 feet, 4 inches) and hammer throw (173 feet, one inch) . . . came up big for the Seawolves at the America East Outdoor Championships, finishing second in the hammer throw (53.96m), second in the shot put (15.75m), and fourth in the discus (46.48m) . . . named Indoor Track and Field team MVP . . .

2001-02: Sat out as a redshirt.

2000-01: At the Jasper Invitational, recorded his season-best throw in the shot put, 48 feet, 2 1/4 inches, for third place . . . at the same meet, finished fourth in the weight throw with a personal-best 48 feet, 1 3/4 inches . . . finished first in both events at the Fordham Christmas Clash . . . named Athlete of the Week . . . competed at IC4As in the shot put.

1999-2000: Set a school record last year in the shot put (52-10) . . . second on the all-time list in hammer (154-3).

High School: Suffolk County Champion in 1998 . . . also lettered in football.
