Stony Brook University Cheerleading
One of Stony Brook's most spirited groups is its cheerleading squad. Under the current direction of nationally competing AACCA certified coaches Cherisse Iacano and Reanna Fulton, the squad performs year-round during all home football games and men's and women's home basketball games. The squad also accompanies the teams to any off-campus tournaments such as the America East Basketball tournament held every March. In addition to cheering on the Seawolves, the squad also competes at the UCA College National Championship held in Orlando, Florida.
The squad consists of hard-working, dedicated young men and women. The purpose of the SBU cheer squad is to support the athletic teams at Stony Brook University by generating crowd enthusiasm and to participate in various community service events. The State University of New York at Stony Brook Cheerleaders are representatives of the University and should display a positive and courteous manner at all times. The cheer program is under and governed by the Undergraduate Student Government.
