David VanDyke M.S., S.C.C.C, C.S.C.S
Assistant Athletics Director for Speed, Strength and Conditioning

David VanDyke has been Stony Brook's Director of Speed, Strength & Conditioning since 2004. VanDyke is responsible for the mental and physical development of Stony Brook's student-athletes and oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning for all Seawolves sports. In his programs for strength and conditioning success, VanDyke incorporates Olympic lifts, high intensity training methodology, plyometrics, speed, agiility, functional movement screen and balance training, free weights, pneumatic resistance, variable resistance machines, medicine and stability balls, bands and chains. All of VanDyke's programs are designed towards injury prevention and increasing performance potential. He also oversees over 10,000 square feet of strength & conditioning space, including the brand new state-of-the-art $4.3 million Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center, which he helped design and was responsible for purchasing equipment. VanDyke is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor's and master's degree in kinesiology. Miguel Rivera
Assistant Speed, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Miguel is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University where he earned a bachelor's and masters degree in sport management and exercise science. A dean's list honoree with a 3.8 GPA, Rivera was an All-American and first-team all-conference standout for the Warriors on the gridiron. Rivera served internships with Princeton University and Velocity Sports Performance. During the past two years, Rivera, who will work with football and track and field, volunteered at his alma mater. Bill DeLongis
Assistant Speed, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Bill DeLongis was hired as the assistant coach for speed, strength and condition in November 2013. He works directly with volleyball, women's basketball, men's lacrosse and baseball and assists with football. A former Stony Brook speed, strength and conditioning intern himself, he also runs the internship program. Read Full Bio
